Talking Points

How do I Choose my Distance?

You do it on course on the fly. At some point the courses split and based on how you are feeling you can continue on or head to the finish. In 2025 the 25 mile course split off at mile 14, the 55 & 75 mile course split at 44.

Tires?

We recommend 2 of them! The entire course is passable with any width tire. That said, in 2025 a brave soul tried it on 24’s & said it was truly miserable. The preferred tire size from the field has been ~40. Follow Seeds_StonesRoubaix on Instagram for the latest updates.

Weather?

It will be breezy! Historical Highs around 70 and lows around 50. It is mid May in the midwest. A very small chance of snow, a mild chance of rain, a medium chance of blue skies, and a high chance of wind.

Course Insight?

What Seeds & Stones Roubaix lacks in elevation change it makes up for wind. In 2025 a 1 mile grass double track was introduced and will likely return. The rest of the course is largely gravel with a bit of chip and seal sprinkled in.

Outside Aid?

Outside is allowed, but ONLY at the aid station location. We want to keep the roads as rural and quiet as possible for the participants.

Inclusivity?

We have an “Open Class.” Use the contact link & let us know that you want to participate in the open classification.

Accommodations?

Camping - There will be camping allowed at the Waterman Bible Church on Friday night.

Hotels - Waterman sits 10 miles straight South of DeKalb and 20 miles straight West of Aurora. Both of these locations have a plethora of options.
